Richard III by Shakespeare

Richard III is a historical play by William Shakespeare, in1592. It depicts the Machiavellian rise to power of Richard III of England.1
He usurps the throne to his brother Clarence, killing him and his two children. He is ready to do anything for power and he is one of the worst "villains" (cattivi) in Shakespeare's works.
He will die in the battle of Bosworth against the future Tudor king Henry VII and famous is his quotation:
A horse! A horse! My kingdom for a horse!
The victory of Henry VII will mean the end of the War of the two Roses and the beginning of the new Tudor dynasty
We will unite the white rose and the red: —
Smile heaven upon this fair conjunction
