Jazz

Jazz is a genre of music that originated in African American communities during the late 19th and early 20th century. It emerged in many parts of the United States,but especially in New Orleans .

It was a lively and cheerful music, so modern and new for the time, a "black" music.

listen to them singing "Summertime", a lullaby (ninna nanna) and an aria composed by George Gershwin

Louis Armstrong (August 4, 1901 – July 6, 1971),^[1] nicknamed Satchmo^[2] or Pops, was an American jazz trumpeter, singer, and an influential figure in jazz music.
